Cardiac Education Group Adds New Online Resources

The Cardiac Education Group (CEG)  is committed to providing resources and information on the diagnosis, treatment and management of heart disease and heart failure in dogs and cats to promote early detection and diagnosis with greater accuracy and confidence.
In spring 2012, the group added three new interactive case studies, each RACE-approved for one hour of continuing education accreditation:
  • Hershey is a 14-year-old Cockapoo whose cough returned after being treated for the same condition six months earlier.
  • Athena, a six-year old Doberman, presents with decreased appetite, coughing and labored breathing.
  • Jake, also a Doberman, is 7. His owner brings him to the veterinarian for an annual health evaluation.
Another valuable tool on the group’s website is an interactive Radiograph Viewer, which allows users to search by breed and disease to view a complete library of radiographs. CEG plans to release an interactive Vertebral Heart Scale (VHS) tool later this summer, which will give users the opportunity to measure heart VHS online and compare their results to the CEG’s measurement recommendations.
You’ll find these tools and other helpful resources at www.cardiaceducationgroup.org.
